Description
Here we have a RARE vinyl LP by FREE. Titled ; "TONS OF SOBS" (1969). On the ISLAND record label. This is an ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING on the Pink Background with Orange/Black & Pink Ball or, Eye variant of the Island label; LISTED @ £300 (if MINT; which this isn't). This copy is pretty good (Graded at VG+, overall, by me), so should still be worth having; RARE, try & find another.
Featuring Paul Rodgers, Paul Kossoff, Andy Fraser & Simon Kirk.
ISLAND RECORDS STEREO : ILPS 9089 .
CONDITION:-
This is a "Made in England" 1st Pressing issue.
VINYL :- Side A:- Visually; VERY GOOD (several mild scratches/surface marks). Play graded @ VERY GOOD+ (mostly great, clear sound throughout apart from the odd click/pop; strange "buzzing" sound on the sides lead-in grooves which persists for 1 revolution of track 1; No jumps). Matrix : ILPS + 9089 + A 2 . (indicating a FIRST PRESSING, on the first Label variant Issue). Side B:- Visually VERY GOOD+ (a couple of mild scratches). Play graded @ EXCELLENT- (great overall sound; inc. "I'm A Mover", one of the BEST Free songs; couple of clicks on final track; no jumps). Matrix : ILPS + 9089 + B 2 . (a FIRST PRESSING).
GATEFOLD SLEEVE :- VERY GOOD- (lots of edge/corner rub + age wear). This is a particularly delicate Gatefold Sleeve prone to rub wear. However, not bad for 54 years old ! SPINE :- POOR (lots of edge & corner rub; most Titles barely legible).
OVERALL GRADED @ VERY GOOD+ (very good, but clearly not a top copy).
