FREE IMPROVISATION - Wired, Iskra 1903, New Phonic Art (DGG 3LP)
Original copy of this legendary document of experimental music. Released in 1974 it contains one LP per artist.
New Phonic Art are Carlos Roque Alsina (piano electric organ), Jean-Pierre Drouet (perc), Vinko Globokar (trombone), Michel Portal (reeds). Several players here are from Stockhausen’s pool of musicians circa Aus den sieben Tagen, but this disc ranges from primitive to high avant garde as well as more conventional jazzy free improvistion similar to Nuova Consonanza.
Iskra 1903 are Paul Rutherford (trombone), Derek Bailey (acoustic and electric guitar), and Barry Guy (double bass) performing classic British free improv.
The final disc is by Wired - Mike Lewis (Hammond organ), Mike Ranta (Perc), Karl-Heinz Boettner (stringed instruments) and Conny Plank (mix). This music is a kind of live electronics that creates a gentle and slowly evolving texture of sounds that are a blend of cosmic and experimental styles in the vein of early Tangerine Dream (Zeit etc) or Kluster, mixed with elements more familiar to the sound world of Stockhausen’s improvising group. The quality of the music is stunning throughout.
The condition of the box is EX- with a slight mark on the left hand edge as seen in the photo/
Vinyl is EX on all sides and the booklet is VG+ as it has been stored outside of the box at some time and has become a little wrinkled and stained.
Records have been cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
Records will be packed in a strong box and will be sent with a polythene sleeve for protection
