Free's return in 1972 was scarred by any number of traumas, not least of all the departure of bassist Andy Fraser and the virtual incapacity of guitarist Paul Kossoff -- one-half of the original band, and the lion's share of its spirit as well. But did their erstwhile bandmates let it show? Not a jot. The hastily recruited Tetsu Yamauchi, and vocalist Paul Rodgers himself, filled the breach instrumentally, and probably 50 percent of the ensuing Heartbreaker ranks among Free's finest ever work. Of course, any record that can open with the sheer majesty of "Wishing Well," Rodgers' so-evocative tribute to Kossoff, is immediately going to ascend to the halls of greatness, all the more so since Kossoff himself is in such fine form across both this cut and the next three -- completing side one of the original vinyl, "Come Together in the Morning," "Travellin' in Style," and "Heartbreaker" add up to the band's most convincing sequence of songs since the days of Fire and Water

Track Listing:
Side 1: WISHING WELL / COME TOGETHER IN THE MORNING / TRAVELLIN' IN STYLE / HEARTBREAKER
Side 2: MUDDY WATERS / COMMON MORTAL MAN / EASY ON MY SOUL / SEVEN ANGELS

LABELS: The ISLAND labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT and have NO wear, NO writing and NO evident spindle traces - THIS COPY IS POSSIBLY COMPLETELY UNPLAYED
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces have their original DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN. There are some light hairlines caused by movement of the LP within its inner but these have little audio consequence - the playback is practically FLAWLESS
VINYL Audio: The audio is absolutely OUTSTANDING - CRYSTAL CLEAR, VERY STRONG, BEAUTIFULLY RICH and VIBRANT. There are NO scratches, NO sticks/jumps and barely any clicks/pops (really, hardly any). The record SOUNDS SUPERB throughout and plays to an extremely high standard with NO groove-wear or distortion (its hardly, if ever been played). Must be graded EXCELLENT++ for audio. BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING COPY. NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use strict RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'About Me' page)
SLEEVE: The original matte sleeve is also in SUPERB condition. Practically AS-NEW with NO ring wear and CRISP, SHARP edges with a CRISP, CLEAN spine with all text CLEAR and BOLD. The only slight downside are a couple of age-related 'foxing' spots (please see photos) but otherwise, a BEAUTIFUL sleeve
INNER SLEEVE: The original lyric inner is also in GREAT condition - CLEAN, SHARP and FRESH with NO splits to any of the edges (which is incredibly rare for this delicate thin paper inner). There is a very small tear on the top opening edge but it is very minor and barely noticeable (again, please see photos)

PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I USUALLY TAKE QUITE A FEW SO YOU CAN GET A CLEAR INDICATION OF EVERY DETAIL OF THE ITEM
SUPERB UK FIRST *COMPLETE* PRESSING AND A FINER ONE I THINK WOULD BE VERY PRETTY TO LOCATE INDEED - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
AS WITH ALL MY RECORDS THIS HAS A LOW START PRICE AND NO RESERVE
PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE RARE AND COLLECTABLE VINYL
AND PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUERIES YOU MAY HAVE
THANKS FOR LOOKING, CHEERS
