20 PAGE 1969 ORIGINAL UK BOOKLET/PROGRAMME
This is the original 1969 UK only printed "Uncle Meat" booklet/concert programme. It is not to be confused with the later 12 page Uncle Meat booklet that was issued with UK Reprise & USA Bizarre pressings of the Uncle Meat Double LP. While the outer covers look the same, the 12-page booklets (that came with the Double LP) simply had 'Printed in the UK/USA" on the rear cover of the booklet. This 20 page booklet has different photos, is on thicker paper and was printed in the UK by the 'Hastings Printing Company' in St Leonards on Sea, Sussex. It is the Holy Grail for many Zappa collectors.
There has been a vast amount of discussion on whether this booklet was issued with the Transatlantic pressing of Uncle Meat or whether it was sold at Zappa's May & June 1969 UK concerts - Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol, Portsmouth and London (Royal Albert Hall). I was at the Birmingham Town Hall concert and did not see it being sold. I am told by a friend, who saw the London concert, that they were on sale at the Royal Albert Hall gig - a week after the Birmingham gig.
The one on offer here was purchased in June 1969 at the Royal Albert Hall. I am told that only a few were printed and that these sold out very quickly. It does, therefore, seem that the booklet was only available in time for the Royal Albert Hall gig and only in very small numbers.

The condition of the booklet is Excellent. There are no missing pages. No tears or rips. No missing staples. No unsightly creases. The only flaw is a small mark at the top left corner of the front page - see photo.
