Uncle Meat is the sixth album by The Mothers of Invention and seventh overall by Frank Zappa, released in 1969 as a sprawling double LP.
Conceived as the soundtrack to a film Zappa hadn't yet finished (and famously admits as much on the cover), the album moves between orchestral arrangements, jazz, doo-wop parody, and musique concrète, alongside live tracks from London, Copenhagen, and the Whisky A Go Go.
This is an original US pressing on Bizarre Records, catalog 2MS 2024.
All four sides feature a first lacquer cut: Side I 1C, Side II 1C, Side III 1A, Side IV 1F.
Produced by Frank Zappa.
Pressed at Columbia's Terre Haute, Indiana plant, indicated by the "T" etched in the deadwax alongside the stamper letters.
Gatefold cover art and package design by Cal Schenkel, including the stylized "Uncle Weat" title lettering and the back-cover skull-and-photobooth collage of the band.
Blue Bizarre labels with the green bell-jar illustration, distributed by Warner Bros.–Seven Arts Records.
This copy does not include the 12-page booklet issued with some original copies.
