MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original “Phase 4 Stereo” London “ffrr” Records very first press released in Chile in 1975 by London “ffrr” Records, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records), licensed from The Decca Record Co. Ltd., UK, catalog number SLLC-38667, with machine etched matrix numbers ZAL-9532-1L 1 10 1 SMA in Side A and ZAL-9533-1L 1 10 1 SMS in Side B, with traditional red/white/black “Phase 4” London Records labels. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“CHACKSFIELD PLAYS THE BEATLES’ SONG BOOK” was originally released in 1970 in UK by Decca Records and in USA by London Records, and we had to wait until 1975 to see this interesting album with instrumental versions of the greatest hits of The Beatles released here in Chile and we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of 2 single pieces of thin cardboard kept held by an outer plastic bag which’s also part of the cover. Front cover keeps strictly the original UK artwork, with album title written in English only and with the tracklist omitted. In back cover it’s the same “4” artwork, but in Chile it’s blue-tinted, with all text written in English only and the tracklist without play time, with additional information about this Chilean issue at bottom left corner. In labels, the album title and tracklist are written in English only, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about licenses, but the name of Frank Chacksfield And His Orchestra is written in Spanish, Frank Chacksfield Y SU ORQUESTA. So, here you have the chance to get and own another rare pressing of a famous album released in Chile with UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE BLUE-TINTED BACK COVER, a record not many times seen and with a great selection of hits of The Beatles in instrumental versions, A MUST TO HAVE for all lovers, fans and collectors of Frank Chacksfield and The Beatles!!! And WHAT A GREAT CONDITION!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX+ or NM- condition, clean and complete, with only minimal wear in all edges, very faint creases and some very light ring mark. The outer plastic bag was removed. The record is in NM- or NM condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only minimal soft scuffs hard to see at first sight, which of course don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in NM- or NM condition, clean and clear, with only faint age browning and not even spindle hole wear. The sound is in amazing NM- or even NM condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only minimal occasional and barely audible light crackles here and there, which doesn’t cause any distraction from the stunning sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE PRESS of this record with a very nice, almost immaculate labels and superb sound quality after about 49 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone. And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE BLUE-TINTED BACK COVER!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

PAYMENT

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP20 for weight until 0,5kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl/sleeve)

GBP28 for weight 0,5-1kg (usually 2 to 5 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl/sleeve)

GBP15 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
