Columbia  FS-90072, 1971 original "2-eye" issue/1st pressing (Canada)

A Holy Grail of Quebec prog-psych who's collectability has been climbing steadily in the last half decade (in fact more recently, it's become extremely difficult to find in any condition).

* This is Prog with a quivering acid-jazz edge *

One thinks of bands like VDGG, Kingdom Come, Aphrodite's Child or Second Hand, yet the genius of Dervieux (who passed away shortly after this, his only release) and his crew of future-Contraction musicians with the incredible bass guitarist Yves Laferriere (who's own eponymous album is quietly devastating) creates some delicious, pensive and atmospheric moments that are truly unique.      A masterpiece !

Franck Dervieux (compositions, piano, organ, synth),  Contraction's Yves Laferriere (bass),  Michel Robidoux (guitars),  Christian St-Roch (drums),  Toubabdou's Michel Seguin (percussion), Terry King (electric violin) and great haunting, erotically moaning vocals from Christiane Robichaud (Contraction, VEBB) that reminds one of Sonja Kristina of Curved Air.
