The famous and super-rare 45; CIRCLES c/w SO, COME ON by THE FLUER DE LYS on IMMEDIATE Record Co Ltd - IM 032 ~ (1966)
Stamped "IM 032", (the label has IM 032 1F printed upside down, above IM 032), plus "1F//1 1 *" on side 1 & "IM 032", (again, the label has IM 032 2F printed upside down, above IM 032), "2F//1 1" on side 2, thus indicating a genuine factory first issue/initial pressing run copy!!
All my records are from my own personal collection, built up since the early 1960’s and have genuinely been played very little and then only on quality turntables, (Garrard Zero 100, Lab 80 and Goldring GL75), set up with a low tracking force, using Shure, then Grado then Stanton cartridges over the years. All records have been dry stored, vertically, in the dark and only ever played by myself.
If you are interested in early British R & B and Progressive Rock Bands and the USA West Coast bands of the time then please add me to your favourites as I do have some rarities that I have never seen on eBay. I do not go in for all the b******s about rare first pressings and the excessive detailing of group histories that I see other sellers boring eBay members with and will describe the records honestly, just indicating the basics.
This auction is for an ultra rare and genuine Fluer De Lys "Circles"/"So, Come On" single on Immediate, with the correct pale lilac label and the original IMMEDIATE sleeve, (see the pictures).
The record itself is genuinely very clean on both sides, with just a couple of spindle marks on the label, a tight spindle hole, one very slight (inaudible) sleeve mark on the surface on the B side, absolutely no scratches, no surface noise, crackles or pops and no jumps. One of my all time favourite records and it has been very carefully cared for because it was so difficult to get in the first place!
The cover is the original one, very slightly grubby around the edge, with very minor creases and just one very tiny 6mm tear at the label centre on the reverse display (B) side - I have made no attempt to "tidy" this up to deceive bidders by the way; WYSIWYG.
Using the Record Collector grading system; the vinyl is Excellent on both sides, the cover and inner sleeve are Very Good, (perhaps Very Good with a minus "-" because of the little tear).
This pressing is already a superb and sound investment as good copies get rarer and rarer; I loved this band but only saw them twice, (at The Marquee), and at the time, could only obtain this one single, which I had to order specially!
PS: It STILL sounds great and the B side is as good as the famous PETE TOWNSEND written A side track actually!
