Blackest Ever Black, BLACKEST009, U.K., 2012. Vinyl LP with printed inner sleeve and insert.
Gareth Williams' post This Heat cassette release 'Flaming Tunes', made in collaboration with Mary Currie and many contributors including T.H. guitarist Charles Bullen - a classic of mid-eighties lo-fi inventiveness. Songs and instrumentals covering a mass of stylistic shifts and recording techniques - an inexhaustible document.
This first vinyl release on the Blackest Ever Black label is a nicely presented edition - quality card outer, sturdy inner sleeve reproducing in facsimile the handwritten lyrics from the cassette and layout of the information text. Also includes a riso-printed insert reproducing a letter from Williams to Currie which references some of the embryonic lyrics.
Really nice cut by the maestro Matt Colton and clear dynamic pressing.
The edition was limited to 1000 copies, one time pressing.
This copy has been stored away since release - pristine and unplayed. Check photos for condition - all of actual copy being sold.
Will be very well packed with the inner separate from the cover.
