Wacky album ideas from Manchester producer Justin Robertson as Five Green Moons, bringing a second serial wiring of dense pastoral dub, post-punk, hauntology, and ritualistic electronics. Chants and occult-tinged vocals thread through angular guitar lines and skittering basement synths, while the bass lumbers with dubwise weight, making 'Calling OS', 'Lost In The Static', and 'The First Tower Of Babel' a spacious species indeed. Fall fans will clock Brix Smith - former guitarist and vocalist of the ever-adaptable Mark E Smith band - who appears on two of the tracks, adding a sharp post-punk edge to the ready-textured scape. References range from PIL and Holy Tongue to the off-kilter jazz of Brown Rice-era Don Cherry, all wrapped in Robertson's neurofrying production, hitting the elastic limit.
