This is the highly sought after fantastic and ULTRA RARE psych jazz LP by FIRYUZA on the USSR state record label Melodiya (C60-13215-16) from the 1970s.

Four long tracks adorn this one of a kind album. This seven piece group with guitar, sax, flute, keys, violin, bass, drums and percussion make a fascinating fusion, one that reflects the unique culture of the Turkmens. I’m constantly amazed at some of the subversive sounds coming from the old Soviet Union. Cool cover featuring the band, with instruments in hand, proudly wearing their traditional telpeks (tall fur hats). Band leader Dmitri Manukanalso worked with Gunesh in their early days.  

Tracks are: Ashkhabad (7:36), Native Land (8:46), Chapyksuar (7:45) and Dialog In Aul (10:05).

The album by Firyuza (Firuza) is one of the three holy grails of psych jazz from Central Asia. The other two are GUNESH (first album) from Uzbekistan and DOS MUKASAN from Kazakhstan. I also have those albums but they are not for sale.

I am selling this Firyuza LP because it's a duplicate copy. I got it this past summer when I was in Russia from the same guy I got my other Firyuza, Gunesh and Dos Mukasan records from. 

I sold a copy of Dos Mukasan two years ago for $550 and was offered $600 US for my personal copy recently. Dos Mukasan is a great record but Firyuza is even better.

This is a TASHKENT PRESSING which are the rarest pressings from the former USSR.

The condition of the vinyl is EX and the cover is EX.

This is a very nice copy of a top rarity!

My shipping costs by Canada Post are listed above and below but with more important details. I also combine shipping so you can save money when you buy more items.  Canada Post Small Packet Air/Surface Mail service does not provide online tracking so anything mailed by this method is sent at your own risk.
