It feels good to know that you share my passion regarding the 50's and 60's and the music that changed the world, forever. It was a blessing for me to be a teenager during the early 50's, listening, dancing and Bopping to the the best of the best.

35% of my rare albums have been shipped to the following Countries: AUSTRALIA, AUSTRIA, CANADA, DENMARK, ENGLAND, FRANCE, GERMANY, ISRAEL, ITALY, JAPAN, NETHERLANDS, SPAIN and SWEDEN, with the remaining 65% staying in the UNITED STATES.

Most of the albums you will be viewing are from my 50+ year old collection and are original issues. Sometimes I include albums given to me or purchased from friends or relatives. I do not go to swap meets, garage sales, or thrift stores. I do go to record conventions as time permits. You will be bidding for very rare, original issue and quality albums. Sometime I will list rare re-issues or later pressings. They will be stated as (re) in the listing. I use Goldmine Standard Catalog as a grading guideline and tend to be conservative in my approach. 

All records are played through prior to listing for accurate grading.

(NM or NM-) NM records are shiny with no visible defects such as writing, stickers or needle marks on the labels. The album cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any signs of human handling. It also will have no ring wear.

(VG+) or (Excellent) May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK. The cover might be marred by a cutout marking, small hole punch, a cut in the spine or a promotional stamp and even a tiny bit of ring wear.

(VG) Have more obvious flaws such as lack of gloss, groove wear, light scratches and needle marks. When played there will be surface noise that will not overpower the music overall. Noise in the passages, between songs is common. The cover may have minor seam splits, writing, tape, stickers, ring wear and scuffs.

(VG-) Is just a compounding of the VG category. Many obvious flaws but if the record is rare, may very well be worthwhile. I usually do not list records lower than the above grades.

Remember, when you are bidding, most of these records are usually 50+ years old and have been out of print for a very long time. When you consider that, damage, loss, and normal use or wear has reduced the market to the point that few of these wonderful treasures are even available today.

My auctions end on Saturday or Sunday and I ship the following day, Monday. Every shipment is stamped and dated the day of shipment. I have no control over the time of arrival to your home or place of business. When you receive your album (s), please look at the date on the Delivery confirmation or in the case of out of the country shipments, the Customs Declaration and if you feel your album (s) were overdue, please contact your postal department and let them know.

POSTAGE RATES

Due to an increase in our postal rates as of May 11th, 2009 my shipping rates will have a small increase. Media Mail Rates in the United States will remain $4.00, no change. Shipments to Canada will be as follows; $9.00 for 1 album and $4.00 for each additional album. Asia, Europe and South America: $17.00 for 1 album (an increase of .70 cents). Additional albums will be discounted $9.00 per album. These changes take place May 15, 2009.

Due to the value of my collection, I will help you save on shipping fees when you have multiple winnings. I have ordered special album boxes for shipping. All boxes will have four FRAGILE, Phonograph Record stickers. This is an attempt to let the postal people know they are handling sensitive boxes. There will also be a mailing confirmation. FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION: At the age of 14, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers set the Rock & Roll World in its heels in January of 1956 with a blockbuster national hit, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, included on this album. There were more national hits to follow and in February of 1968 at the age of 25, Frankie Lymon was dead of a heroin overdose. An absolute waste of a wonderful talent and so gifted. in 1998 Hollywood released a movie based on Frankie Lymon's life. The original group (those on this album) Frankie Lymon, Herman Santiago, Jimmy Merchant Joe Negroni and Sherman Garnes. You are bidding for for one of the rarest albums in the history of Rock & Roll, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers. This most rare album was recorded in 1956 on the Gee label GLP-701. THIS IS THE RED LABEL WITH BLACK PRINT AND IS VALUED AT $500+ IN THE GOLDMINE PRICE GUIDE. The stamped numbers in the trailoff area are GLP 701 A on side one and GLP 701 B on side two. I am letting this one go because I still have my originals from 1956. Keep in mind that only original pressings had red labels. All others were grey labels and later pressings or re-issues. There was no original Stereo pressing. The Thick album cover is in very good condition considering that it is 54 years old and counting. There is no ring wear, wrinkles, tears or scuffs. The seams had to be repaired however in order to protect the most valuable record and there is slight discoloration in top. The liner notes in back are clean and there are two photos of the group with very interesting information. There is some discoloration and scuffs due to age. The thick record has maintained much of its lustre and the are in VG+++ with just a couple spindle marks. The record was inspected under a 100 watt light and there were no feelable scratches, scuffs or grooves, just surface scratches from normal use that did not affect an excellent listening experience. The record was also played just prior to listing and there were no sticks or skips, just pops and hisses one would expect from normal use, mostly between some of the songs. Again, the listening experience was excellent and this record is 54 years old. The songs include; Side 1, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Please Be Mine, Who can Explain, Share, Love Is A Clown, I Promise To Remember. Side 2, I Want You To be My Girl, I'm Not A Know It All, Baby Bay, ABC's Of Love, Am I Fooling Myself Again, I'm Not A Juvenile Delinquent. The lucky winner of this timeless treasure will own a large piece of Rock & Roll History, for sure. Based on the Goldmine Price Guide, the album cover is graded VG, the quality of the listening experience VG++, and the record a strong VG. There is no reserve. I would suggest that this album is best suited for someone who will sincerely appreciate such a historical part of Rock & Roll History.
