Description
Highly regarded original soundtrack LP to "The Fantastic Plastic Machine" by Harry Betts - from 1969 and one of the most sought-after and highly-regarded psych pop soundtracks of the era. And hey, turns out it REALLY is as good as people say. For once. The title theme song is super cool orchestrated upbeat surf rock with great quivery guitar, dramatic orchestral stabs, sweeping strings and pealing chimes. "Green-O" is a driving soulful rock instrumental with a great, funky riff. "Day Groovin'" is, as you'd expect, a groovin' r&b-influenced organ workout that has dancefloor go-go rama written all over it. And then there's the AMAZING "Green Grotto", the highlight of the LP - a mysterious eerie psychedelic instrumental with bubbling tom toms and cascading chimes creating an otherworldly hazy atmosphere like the soundtrack to a Twilight Zone episode. Slowly, the song builds momentum and turns into a HUGE driving slab of dramatic music like the middle break of "Macarthur Park", with some super cool BIG acid guitar licks thrown in for good measure. Original 1969 pressing on the Epic label. This is in as good a condition as you're likely to find - it WAS sealed when I got it, but of course, I had to hear it, so the cover and vinyl are both in EXCELLENT shape and it's still in the shrinkwrap. Small cutout hole. Winning bidder pays $3.00 media mail shipping in the US, $6 air mail to Canada, and $11 air mail everywhere else. Paypal, Bidpay, cash, checks and money orders accepted.
