Description

FACES "OOH LA LA" 1973 U.S. original Warner Brothers LP of group's 4th release w/gimmix cover intact. Complete w/lyric poster. Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagen & Kenney Jones. Stereo BS 2665. M-/M

When Steve Marriott left the Small Faces to form Humble Pie, it looked like the end of the road for one of the best British Mod/R&B rock groups. But the Jeff Beck Group was also imploding at about the same time, so Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagen & Kenney Jones got two for the price of one when Rod Stewart joined on vocals & his mate Ron Wood took over the lead guitar duties. "Ooh La La" was their fourth album together & the sound & image had come together by that time- sort of a workingman's Rolling Stones who put on a great show after downing a few pints down at the local pub. Rod Stewart had scored some major hits as a solo act but most of the out & out rockers were saved for the group now known as simply the Faces since Rod & Ron were a bit taller than the average height of the original members. This album contains the hit "Cindy Incidentally" which peaked at #48 in the States but was a major #2 hit in the U.K. in 1973. "Silicone Grown" & "Borstal Boys" are other standouts among the 10 good time rock'n'roll tracks. This is the original 1973 U.S. pressing with the complicated gimmix cover intact. It has the 24"x36" b&w lyric poster which has never been unfolded.

10 tracks- Silicone Grown, Cindy Incidentally, Flags & Banners, My Fault, Borstal Boys, Fly In The Ointment, If I'm On The Late Side, Glad & Sorry, Just Another Honky & Ooh La La.

Gatefold gimmix cover is intact & looks nearly new except for minor aging (yellowing). No writing, tears or split seams. Overall the cover is in near MINT condition. Record sounds great with no scratches or scuffs. Very few spins on this disc- rated MINT. The colorful "Burbank" Warner Brothers labels look brand new & prove that it is an original 1973 pressing. The 24"x36" b&w lyric poster has never been used or unfolded. It is also MINT.
