Electronic Moog Synthesizer 7 LP lot. They are:

1. Tree Music by Paul Chihara. Composers Recordings Inc. Records(CRI SD 269). 

Logs XVI by Paul Chihara Performer:  Bertram Turetzky (Double Bass)Notes: Electronic sounds realized on Moog and Bucla synthesizers at the UCLA Electronic Music Studio.

2. New Sounds in Electronic Music. Odyssey Records(32 16 0160). 

One of the most beautifully pressed vinyls of electronic music with 3 important works Steve Reich's "Come Out" (see Reich's Early Works), Richard Maxfield "Night Music," and Pauline Oliveros "I of IV." Maxfield's "Night Music" is an exquisite pre-synthesizer electronic music made -- like his pieces "Sine Music" (1959) and "Trinity Piece" (1960) -- with only the supersonic bias signal of a tape recorder and a supersonic sawtooth waveform from an oscilloscope producing audio range difference tone "ghosts". Identical in feeling to a response to the sound of birds and insects on a summer night in a city park. "I of IV" is a good example of Oliveros' earlier electronic music using a configuration of tape recorders patched into each other with magnetic tape spliced in loops so that a form of "automatic generation" system was created by feedback. Similar to Richard Maxfield, Oliveros used bias frequencies of tape recorders and difference, or lower "ghost tones" produced by the interference of very high frequencies.

3. Extended Voices. Odyssey Records(32 18 0156). 

New pieces for chorus and for voices altered electronically by sound synthesizers and vocoder. North American Time Capsule 1967 for Voices and Sylvania Electronic Systems Vocoder Solos For Voice 2 - Electronic Realization. Extended Voices for Voices With Moog Synthesizer and Buchla Associates Electronic Modular System.

4. Electronics. Remi Gassmann' Music to the Ballet. under The Direction of George Balanchine.                         Westminster Records(XWN-18962). 

Electronics: music for the ballet as produced by the New York City Ballet Company under the direction of George Balanchine. Electronic works created by the Oskar Sala Sound Studio and performed on the trautonium.

5. Electronic Music. Turnabout Records(TV 34046S). 

I don't know much about modern classical music, Cage and Stockhausen and that academic avant garde stuff, but what I do know is that Luciano Berio's piece 'Visage' is one of the most incredible, confusing and completely psychedelic pieces of music I've ever heard. The piece was composed in 1961 and it is basically a 20 minute tape cut up (a la William Burroughs) of opera singer Cathy Berberian's astonishing voice. To call it a cut up however, is to underplay the stunning complexity of the sound, for the voice is layered and manipulated, pieces of tape are speeded up and slowed down...what is recognisable as human voice is entirely wordless, beyond language, transporting you to a place of pure emotion, or pure thought. This is music to fall into, maybe something like an aural black-hole?

6. Kenneth Gaburo. Music for Voices, Instruments and Electronic Sounds. Nonesuch Records(H-71199). 

 Antiphony III and IV, dating from 62 and 67 respectively, both combine live musicians with electronic music on tape, both set miniature poems by Virginia Hommel, and both aim to create a continuum between the sounds of the singers and instruments and the electronic sounds.

7. "Blue" Jean Tyranny. Lovely Music(LML 1061). 

 "Blue" Gene Tyranny is a composer, renowned for exploring the worlds of musique concrète, ambient and chamber music. This piece, 'Out Of The Blue', is like nothing I've ever heard before: a 26-minute surrealist journey of unqualified beauty. The piece presents a stunning combination of spoken word passages, gently picked guitar and whirling electronics. An eerie string line runs throughout the entire duration, completing the piece's atmosphere and providing constant
