ERIC DOLPHY – OUT TO LUNCH
(USA BLUE NOTE BLP4163 – 1964 MONO PRESSING)
Classic mid 60’s release of one of the most renowned and finest albums in the Blue Note catalogue. An avant garde masterpiece, the album is certainly the centrepiece of Eric Dolphy’s eclectic catalogue.
Featuring a stellar lineup of musicians (Hutherson/Hubbard/Davis/Williams), this album is the original first Mono master pressed in 1964. Of note, this pressing features the RVG ‘Ear’ logo in the lead out groove together with handwritten catalogue matrices and the word ‘Vangelder’ machine stamped.
This original USA mono pressing is now becoming scarce and sought after. The mastering on this record is superb and is such a great listen!

Cover = VG- (Cover intact but slightly worn. Small seam splits on all edges, with a 2 inch split on bottom right corner, though spine is in-tact and legible. Tape residue on outer edges and slight discolouring particularly on back cover. Name written on bottom right of back cover (B.Wilkes). Slight creasing bottom left hand corner.)
Record = VG+ (Lovely sheen! Mostly minimal markings except for a lengthy faint hairline on Side 2 that does not affect play. Some minimal crackling in quiet spots, but nothing obviously noticeable. Play grade is closer to EX)
Blue Note labels in very good condition.
