Description

I was given this 12" EP by my cousins, Martin and Paul Kelly, back in 1986 when they released it. They later went on to release more great records with the same line-up but under the name of East Village and this first release has become a super-rare collectors' item. I love it and played it quite a bit back then in my teens, but it's still in excellent condition. I'm selling now to raise money to buy a new guitar, with Martin and Paul's blessing.

The sleeve is in very good condition with just some minor creases and the trace of the shape of the record coming through here and there. The spine is slightly worn, but not broken or torn through, which I hope you can see from the picture.

The record itself plays really well with no warping or scratches. There is just a little crackle from the grooves, but it is minimal and unobtrusive.

Most importantly, the songs are great too. Two compositions from John Wood and one each from Paul and Martin Kelly. The hallmarks of what would mature into the East Village sound are all there to hear. The chiming guitars, melancholic melodies and plaintive harmonies. It's a great debut and, as Martin has recently confirmed on the East Village Facebook forum, one that is never likely to be re-released.

So, please pick it up from me at the best price available due to the desire for a relatively swift sale. Feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to answer as promptly as possible.
