Description

Elvis Presley - "Rock 'N' Roll" (HMV CLP 1093) 1st LP 1956 Original fliback laminated sleeve. Gold label.

Unfortunately the sleeve is in poor condition - the laminate has peeled over with use leaving the matt finish on the cover. There is a small tear about 1 1/2 inches on the top right/opening and the spine is badly worn. The top seam has come apart on the top right hand edge - Infact all edges are worn BUT the vinyl visually appears to be in very good condition - some very light scratches and scuffs. In fact the record PLAYS EX++ - actually I would say FANTASTIC as I have just recorded it digitally - hardly any surface noise! (you really would think it's a near mint copy!) - You are welcome to call in at my home in Vauxhall to check for yourself before bidding/buying! (please message me to arrange!) I'm sure it would be hard to find a copy that plays so well!

With such a collectable record it's difficult to price and grade so please look at the photo to check sleeve condition - and read my grading descriptions below before bidding. (Not sure how relevant this is but the LP is listed at £500 mint according to Record Collector 2010)

I have decided to sell my Elvis LPs so please check for Rock N Roll No 2 and others I'm selling. Postage quoted for UK to a minimum to keep costs down. Please check with me for a quote for international air mail costs.

Any question - please ask. Genuine bidders only please (due to recent experiences!). Prompt payment please due to a lot of recent non-payments.

I now only accept PAYPAL as payment due to problems with other methods of payment.

Check out other records I'm selling from my personal collection - selling due to downsizing (please note I am not a record dealer - my collection has been built up over 40 years)

Records are packaged between thick card - I try to describe records accurately but here's an explanantion of condition descriptions:

Fantastic condition! (means almost mint as hardly any signs of being played - i.e. no visible scratches, surface marks - high gloss appearance on the vinyl - amazing condition for the age of the record)

Excellent condition (means very minor signs of wear and tear - no scratches or bad surface marks - there may be signs of being taken out of the sleeve a few times but it's clear the record has been well looked after.

Very Good (means there are some marks on the vinyl and has been played many time - the sound reproduction is excellent with few signs of hissing, crackling or popping)

Good (there are many surface marks and minor scratches and signs of being play a lot - however the record plays OK but there is surface noise)

Fair (the appearance looks pretty bad but the record does play ok (due to the durability of the old vinyl singles)

Poor (looks in terrible condition but does play with a lot of hiss and crackle) I would only list really collectable records in poor condition and are normally around 50p. Nice to have if they are very hard to find)

All sleeves are original company sleeves (as shown in the picture) unless otherwise stated (e.g. Reproduction sleeve or plain white sleeve)

Multiple purchases - postage discount offered. I will keep records for an agreed time in case you are bidding for something which ends on a different day. Please let me know if this is what you want to do so I can send an appropriate invoice at the right time

Any questions please ask - Thanks for looking
