Description
- Up for auction is one of the rarest of all Elvis Presley collectible LPs, a monaural version of “Elvis’ Gold Records Volume 4” (RCA LPM 3921).
- By 1968, when this was released, most major record companies had stopped issuing monaural versions in favor of stereo. As a result production of this album in monaural was extremely limited making it one of the hardest to find of all Elvis Presley collectible LPs.
- The tracklist is: Love Letters/Witchcraft/It Hurts Me/What’d I Say/Please Don’t Drag That String Around/Indescribably Blue/You’re The Devil In Disguise/Lonely Man/A Mess Of Blues/Ask Me/Ain’t That Loving You Baby/Just Tell Her Jim Said Hello.
- The LP plays crisp and clear in spite of quite a few light scratches and sleeve scuffs. This is one of those cases where the LP plays much better than it looks. The LP retains much of the original gloss. You should expect surface noise (no skips) but nothing that overwhelms the playback. The cover is in overall excellent condition with just one small tear on the front just under the RCA Victor logo (probably from a removed price sticker). The previous owner placed protective tape on all seams that does detract somewhat from the attractiveness of the cover. It is my understanding that there are methods of removing the tape. I decided not to attempt that myself and to leave it up to the winning bidder to decide.
- This is such a rarity that, in spite of some visual defects, I decided to offer this for auction. Bidders should probably consider this a filler copy until a better (and much more expensive) one (if ever) comes along.
- NO reserve. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage (check out my other items!).
- In the US the winning bidder pays for media mail ($4.43) or priority shipping (based on ZIP code). Both methods will include tracking. Airmail shipping and handling to Canada is $14.50.
