Description
Tutti Frutti recorded from actual album.
Offering ELVIS PRESLEY LPM 1254, of what I've learned could be an early pressing of his debut album, RCA's first million selling pop LP, released March 23, 1956. Both sides have SIDE 2 labels on them, though all 12 songs are indeed on the album.
Matrix numbers are:
Side 1: G2PP-1282-3S
Side 2: G2PP-1283-5S
This album also has the letter "I" pressed in the dead wax, apparently indicating it was pressed in Indianapolis IN. The other two factories where it was pressed were Hollywood CA ("H") and Rockaway NJ ("R") factories.
Using the Goldmine Grading for Records, I'd say the cover is in Near Mint condition, with no ring marks or scratches on either side, and free of musty smells. There is one small seam split in the upper right corner, which can be seen in the picture. The vinyl is in VG+ condition, with some surface marks. Having play-graded it on a high-end turntable, there are no audible pops or scratch sounds whatsoever.
Regarding the inner sleeve, it is plain white, with no splits. I've had quite a bit of back and forth with a couple of Elvis record collectors. There seems to be a consensus that this could be the original sleeve, though apparently some were shipped with opaque rice paper sleeves, and some bearing RCA Victor markings, depending on where it was pressed.
Here are the tracks, dates recorded, the writers, and lengths:
