Greetings everybody!  Thank you very much for stopping by another of my ebay record auctions!  I appreciate that you took the time to drop by and have a look around, and I hope you will like what you see, and enjoy your stay as well.  Whether you are here to place a bid, to do some window shopping or even if you are here to compare prices, gradings and policies, I am quite glad that you chose my listing to do so!  Folks, I went on vacation last month, and I came back with a nice sized stack of records.  I have been listing a few of these in the past few weeks, but with all the records I've got hanging around here, I am going to add a few others that I've picked up over the years to the mix.  This includes a format that I've only listed a few times in the past, but since I realized that I have more of these than I imagined, it's time to get a few up for your perusal and see if there's any interest.  Yes, I am talking 78s.  On my 78s listings, I am going to do more copy & paste than usual.  I have been grading 78s at my place of work for well over a decade now, and though I have not had the chance to play-grade the ones listed, I am going on my past history of visual-grading, and my track record (no pun intended) has been pretty doggone good, if I do say so myself.  I will be adding an extra $2.00 to my opening bid price to help cover the cost of shipping, as I will NOT just toss a 78 into an LP mailer and send it off to be destroyed by the postal service.  My method of packing includes adding extra  cardboard to the inner walls of the box (yes, a box), and packing/padding material on top & below.  Not too much, as I know that compression can cause more breakage.  My grading will be consistent with the grading for other recorded formats, the better thing about a V+ 78 over an LP or 45 is that with the speed of the rpm, a scratch on a 78 will not affect the play as much as a similar mark on an LP or 45.  Yay-physics and record collecting!  Who knew there would be a crossover?
This time up, I have a 1958 78 pressing on the RCA records label, label # 20-7280.  Yes indeed, this is the one and only Elvis Presley.  This is his 78 of "Hard Headed Woman" b/w "Don't Ask Me Why".  Now a lot of the records I've listed lately have been from my recent vacation.  But so far, those have all been LPs/12" Singles/45s/EPs.  I only picked up one 78 on my vacation this year, and this wasn't it.  Nor was this part of the country/bluegrass collection I picked up last summer.  Nope!  This...this I only picked up a little over a week ago.  I was able to work a deal on a nice little stack of 78s, and this baby was included.  The person I got this from had another Elvis 78, but it was warped too much for me to consider.  This 78 isn't in the best of shape, but far from being horrible.  This does have some scratching, more on the "Don't Ask..." side, but there are a few on the "Hard Headed..." side as well.  The beauty of physics with scratches not affecting a 78 as much as it would a 45 or 33, does help at times.  But since my grading is visual-based, I don't think I could give this a higher grade-though I was tempted to go with a + symbol in this case.  But I won't and I'm not, and as a result, I am giving this my V grading for now.  My grading is considered non-standard, so if you are considering bidding, please have a look at the paragraph after this one, as it contains my gradings and their descriptions.  Perhaps this will be a good fill-in copy for you until another copy in better condition (and reasonably priced) comes around.  This does have an original RCA 78 sleeve, and though the label does have some wear (the kind where it's obvious a previous owner wasn't keeping an eye out for where the spindle was!), all the text is still quite clear and readable.  If you have any questions or comments, please do send them along to me, and you will receive a response as soon as I can get one typed up.  If you need more pictures or description, I can and will be happy to provide.

In case anyone's wondering, here is my scale for grading.  M  Mint.  Reserved for still factory sealed.N- Near Mint, opened, no marks whatsoever.  E+, no marks other than a smudge that i'm too lazy to clean.  E, a light mark or 2, probably won't affect play. (why "probably"?  Because everyone claims their hearing is better than the next persons'.) E-, marks or wear that will cause a little audible affectation.  V+, wear that will cause some distortion of some type.  V, V-, P, well, you get the picture.

All items I sell will be sent with a copy of the sale form, printed up from eBay.  I will not "mark item as a gift", just so you can evade import rules.  The people at my post office know me, and they will check overseas packages for inspection.  I hope you will understand my position about this, my apologies if you are not able to comply.

Also, international bidders, the price listed for postage on my listings are for domestic mailing.  I wish I could send overseas for that price, but reality speaks different.  I place a fair price on all international postage.  Watch for the invoice if you win.

All items that are sent to a U.S. address will have delivery confirmation (at my cost) attached, as I have found that it helps...a lot!....to ensure that packages are truly en route to the customer.  This is for both of our sakes.  I will be using USPS "Media Mail" as my primary shipping method, however, if needed, and for an extra charge, I can ship with "Priority Mail", and if i can get away with it for the price, I really like 1st Class, but that's weight-dependent.

Oh yes, if you are the winning bidder, and you are in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I'm afraid you are going to have to fork over the 5% Virginia State Sales Tax.
