ARTIST - ELVIS PRESLEY TITLE - ELVIS IS BACK! LABEL - RCA CATALOG NO - LPM-2231
RECORD GRADING - EX COVER GRADING - VG+
The cover would have been Excellent, it is bright and colorful and NO splits, but there is a minor hole at the top above Elvis' head. I think someone hung this (carefully) on their wall. It is only through the one half of the gate fold. You can see it if you zoom in on the photo. Otherwise, a top notch cover. The record has minor hairline scuffs but great high gloss. It plays very well, there is some graininess in between tracks especially on Side Two. One click on Side One with no known source. Hollywood pressing as indicated by the "H" in the dead wax. Long Play on the label indicating a first issue. The sticker with the titles on the cover lists "The Girl Next Door." This came from an avid Elvis collectors' estate. Thanks for looking.

VJ'S VINYL GRADING SYSTEM:
Mint - never used, once a record is opened, the top you can get is mint minus. Mint Minus - A great record, one or two fine hairline scuffs, sounds flawless. A mint minus record can "play" mint. Covers are new looking, may have shrink. Excellent - Can have faint hairline scuffs that do no affect play. Can have very minor infrequent crackling. Minor bumps in the cover. VG+ - Scuffs can be more prevalent, with a little more surface noise. If it visually has more scuffs but plays great, I will note that. Still, a very fine and playable copy. Covers have minor age and shelf wear. VG - Can have lots of hairline scuffs, and maybe one or two scratches. Surface noise more prevalent with some popping in spots. Covers have more extensive age and shelf wear. Minor splits. VG minus - More in the way of scratches and surface noise is NOT infrequent. Still, a viable copy. Covers may have splits. G+ - only reserved for a very rare or popular record. Very noisy, maybe some skips, scratches are evident. Covers are trashed. STILL SEALED - I will grade the vinyl as "still sealed." That means it's probably mint minus, but I do not know if there was any factory defects.
Hairline scuffs are light yet visible. You cannot feel them with the skin of your finger. (I cannot fathom feeling it with your fingernail as described in Goldmine...why would you do that?) Scratches you can feel. If I am on the fence between grades, I will go with the lower one. I will not use VG++ etc., but will say that a record is a "strong" VG+. "Age wear" on a cover is either fading or yellowing. "Shelf wear" is ring wear, corner bumps, or fraying.
Additional Information - I have just been informed by a knowledgeable e-Bay buyer that the pin hole that I mentioned in my description is designed to be there so people can hang this cover. So, I will upgrade to Excellent for the cover, and be ever so thankful to the bidder for this information. We learn something new all the time!!
