ARTIST - ELVIS PRESLEY TITLE - ELVIS' GOLDEN RECORDS LABEL - RCA CATALOG NO - LPM-1707
Original first pressing cover. Blue lettering on the front of the cover, no song titles, no RE on the back. The record is from 1963, with "Mono" on the label. I originally listed this record as original, and a kind e-bayer pointed the error out. Vinyl has high gloss. No scratches. Side One is MINT MINUS. There is one minor visible hairline scuff at the end of Side Two that does not affect play. Side Two is EXCELLENT. There is some very quiet crackling in between tracks and a trace during playback of some of the songs. May need a better cleaning, and it could be from some dust that accumulates while playing. The cover is bright and all intact. Excellent for the cover. Thanks for looking.

VJ'S VINYL GRADING SYSTEM:
Mint - never used, once a record is opened, the top you can get is mint minus. Mint Minus - A great record, one or two fine hairline scuffs, sounds flawless. A mint minus record can "play" mint. Covers are new looking, may have shrink. Excellent - Can have faint hairline scuffs that do no affect play. Can have very minor infrequent crackling. Minor bumps in the cover. VG+ - Scuffs can be more prevalent, with a little more surface noise. If it visually has more scuffs but plays great, I will note that. Still, a very fine and playable copy. Covers have minor age and shelf wear. VG - Can have lots of hairline scuffs, and maybe one or two scratches. Surface noise more prevalent with some popping in spots. Covers have more extensive age and shelf wear. Minor splits. VG minus - More in the way of scratches and surface noise is NOT infrequent. Still, a viable copy. Covers may have splits. G+ - only reserved for a very rare or popular record. Very noisy, maybe some skips, scratches are evident. Covers are trashed. STILL SEALED - I will grade the vinyl as "still sealed." That means it's probably mint minus, but I do not know if there was any factory defects.
Hairline scuffs are light yet visible. You cannot feel them with the skin of your finger. (I cannot fathom feeling it with your fingernail as described in Goldmine...why would you do that?) Scratches you can feel. If I am on the fence between grades, I will go with the lower one. I will not use VG++ etc., but will say that a record is a "strong" VG+. "Age wear" on a cover is either fading or yellowing. "Shelf wear" is ring wear, corner bumps, or fraying.
