Description
This is an auction for an Original copy of the EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND 1956 EP release ELVIS PRESLEY released in the USA.
The records themselves (EPB-1254 dog on top) are ONLY in VERY GOOD-/GOOD+ condition with quite a few visible marks/scratches.
The records are as follows:
Record 1 = Sides 1+4 (547-0793) has numerous visible marks/scratches and (nothing too deep) and has been well played over the years!
The labels have ringwear/scuff marks but NO WRITING!. This grades ONLY AS VERY GOOD-/GOOD+ CONDITION! (see photos)
Record 2 = Sides 2+3 (547-0794) is in slightly better condition than the other disc and again has visible marks/scratches (nothing deep) and the labels have NO WRITING!
This record grades ONLY as VERY GOOD-.
Both records have a small numbered sticker on one side.(see photos)
Whilst these records are important , they are NOT as important or as RARE as the GATEFOLD SLEEVE.(see photos)
The THICK CARDBOARD GATEFOLD picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2008 as $200+ in the condition it is in now(which i would say is VERY GOOD+)for the sleeve alone!!!
This sleeve is over 57 years old and shows a few signs of age.
There are NO SPLITS,RIPS or TEARS!(see photos)
The only thing that stops this from grading higher is some creases/scuffs and a name written on the bottom on the front sleeve(see photos)
This is the RARE release of this sleeve with NO ADVERTS!
The other quirky fact with this particular release is that the track listing on the rear displays an incorrect order to the actual playing order
The correct play order is shown on the front,inside and on the records.(sides 2 and 3 are wrong on the rear)
This is one of 3 great different versions of this ORIGINAL sleeve!!
This is a really affordable addition to fill any collection until that mint $400+ (£260+)record and sleeve collection comes along.
The records are also stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent anymore wear to this sleeve!!
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at $240(£160 approx) .I dont have a current price guide but i would say at least £175.
