Description

ELVIS PRESLEY – “CLAMBAKE” (LPM-3893) – VERY SCARCE MONAURAL ISSUE, STAMPED “NOT FOR SALE – PROMOTION USE ONLY”! IN ORIGINAL SHRINK!! WITH BONUS PHOTO!!!

RECORD 1:  VG+ with attractive surfaces and retaining much original gloss. There are several light surface scuffs and scratches that have minimal to no effect on the audible performance. Upon test-play, Track 1, Side 1 (“GUITAR MAN”) does result in some subtle “ticks” due to a scratch which runs across that track. Monaural copies of this album are very few and far between and that can be verified simply by searching up “CLAMBAKE” on this very site. Mono was, by 1967, being phased out in favor of Stereo and much fewer Monaural copies were produced. In fact, this album is the final affordable Elvis Presley Monaural album produced! The next two albums, “ELVIS’ GOLD RECORDS, VOL. 4” (LPM-3921) and “SPEEDWAY” (LPM-3989) are so rare that they are cost-prohibitive for the average collector. The labels on this Hollywood pressing are pretty clean, but do show some spindle marks on both sides. Matrix numbers end with 6S/5S, respectively.

COVER: NM- and still in full original shrink wrap! “NOT FOR SALE – PROMOTION USE ONLY” is embossed into the upper left corner on the back side (see photo) and there is a 4-inch tear in the shrink, just beneath that. Of course, there are no seam splits, but the lower right-hand corner is turned up just a bit and there is a small amount of wear to the upper corner tip on the open end. That’s it. This cover is otherwise just as it was when it left the Hollywood pressing plant in 1967!

INNER SLEEVE:  Comes with the original “ELVIS’ GREAT LP CATALOG” inner sleeve (40C) and you can see the impression of the “NOT FOR SALE” on one corner of the sleeve!

BONUS PHOTO:  VG+ with a few bends and wrinkles from handling. Very slight yellowing from age is observed.

SONG LISTING:

SIDE 1: Guitar Man; Clambake; Who Needs Money; A House That Has Everything; Confidence; Hey, Hey, Hey.

SIDE 2: You Don’t Know Me; The Girl I Never Loved; How Can You Lose What You Never Had; Big Boss Man; Singing Tree; Just Call Me Lonesome.

GOOD LUCK!
