Description
"The Elvis Presley Birthday Tribute" for the weekend of January 7, 1989. Four record set released by United Stations Programming Network. Records are unplayed and would all be in Mint condition if not for the seller of the records who obviously does not know how to handle records.
Here's what happened to what could have been mint condition records. This happened at the swap meet where I sell on the weekends. When I took these records up to the seller to buy them, before I could say "Colonel Parker" he yanked out one of the records with his big fat dirty fingers to show me what great condition the records were in.(ironic, huh?). I held my tongue because he wasn't in a good mood. I've dealt with the guy plenty of times and he's always given me good deals so I didn't want to mess that up. But earlier that day he sold a pasted over Beatles butcher cover to another dealer for $5.00 not knowing what it was until later when that same dealer came back to rub it in his nose. It wouldn't have done me any good to piss him off even more so I just left it alone. I figure I could educate him later on how to properly handle records.
So, after I inspected the records later, they were all in mint unplayed condition except that someone evidently went through and pulled each record out because they all had a thumb and forefinger print on them. I wiped them off as best I could but unfortunately they left small very light scratches or scuffs. The end result is an almost perfect record with this one little imperfection. All the sides are graded at MN except for Record 1 Side 1 which has an obvious scuff about 2" long making it a MN-. Records all come in plain plastic sleeves. Comes with 4 pages of time sheets, a cover letter and a mail in card. Time sheets look to have been handled and are rumpled with some smudges.
Jacket is VG+. Front looks nice with some light wear, scuffs and light creases. Back has obvious ring wear and creases. Open end has a some light crushing along the edge.
Programming includes Elvis songs and interviews with J. D. Sumner, D. J. Fontana, Doc Pomus, Chet Atkins, Gordon Stoker, Otis Blackwell, Paul Evans, George David Weiss, David Briggs, Darlene Love, Mac Davis, Ronnie Milsap, Eddie Rabbit and Tony Brown.
Customers will pay for any insurance or additional services if desired. Shipping and handling for overseas customers will be determined at the end of the auction or auctions. I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ITEMS LOST IN THE MAIL. If you have any questions during the weekend, I will respond late Sunday night or Monday morning Pacific Standard Time. If you pay for your item Monday through early Friday, I'll ship the same or the next day. If you pay late Friday, Sat. or Sun. the item will be shipped Monday.
