Originally released in 1959 during Elvis’s army service, A Date With Elvis compiled Sun-era and early RCA recordings from 1954–1957. The 1965 reissue presented here retains the original mono mixes but features the updated RCA Victor black label with dog-on-top logo and “Monaural” designation at the bottom rim — typical of mid-1960s reissues. This version includes revised artwork (RE2) on the back sleeve, with promotional panels for Elvis’ Golden Records Vol. 1–3 and the “Electronic Stereo” reference box.

A transitional repress for collectors, bridging the 1959 original silver-top deep-groove label and later late-60s budget issues.
