Description
Elvis' 10-inch 45 rpm 2-songs Mono Acetate. As the photo shows, it is on the RCA, Nashville red and white label. It is a two-sided acetate.
Acetates of any artists are rare, but being Elvis makes it super rare. This is from the 70's. No date on the label.
Acetates were made for test recordings and or reference recordings. Usually there might be a least six acetates of the same song, maybe less. There is a fine coating of wax on a metal disc. This particular record does have some slight surface scratches due to the age. It still comes in its original protective sleeve. Acetates are certainly amongst the rarest records in the world.
Elvis usually listened to these test recordings and made a decision on whether he like the recording or not. Sometimes he would throw them away, especially if he did not like the recording. Sometimes one of his entourage would retrieve the record.
Label states: New Master from Nashville on both sides. Time: 3:09 for Patch It Up. Time: 3:15 for Sylvia.
I will be listing a few more Elvis acetates in the near future, also Graceland Christmas CDs. Few my other Elvis items listed NOW.
