Description
This is a most unusual/rare original pressing of Elton John's 21 At 33 album that came out in 1980. Released on the Rocket Record Company Label, catalogue number HISPD 126 and marketed by Phonogram, as you can see from the photos in the listing, rather than having the usual printed labels applied on each side of the record, on Side 2 this particular pressing was released with just a plain white label affixed and Side 1 has simply no label affixed at all. I'm not 100% sure if this is a white label promotional copy or not but certainly there is no eveidence that on Side 1 the label has simply been removed as there are no marks showing where a label has been applied, and the white label on Side 2 has been firmly applied and not simply stuck over the original label. Around the extreme outer edges of the white label you can see evidence of some very tiny coloured dots/"bleeding" where the red/blue colour markings should have been printed but overall it is purely white/off white in colour. Certainly this particular record was not intended for the general buying public.
The record itself is in absolutely lovely condition and plays perfectly. If it is pivoted in bright light the very odd surface mark can be seen but these are so feint and so far and few in between, perhaps only caused when the record was placed back in it's sleeve, they in no affect the playing of the record. The album cover is in very good condition still displaying vibrant colours. The corners of the sleeve display a very little/small amount of wear & tear and down the spine there is a little cracking here and there but overall, given that it is now 40 years old, in excellent condition. Comes also complete with the original, printed sleeve that the record is placed in and the printed insert with all the lyrics, musicians, production notes etc. For anybody looking to own an original copy of this album, whether they wanted this unusual copy or the standard release, you would struggle to find one in better condition. The track listing is as follows:
Side 1: Chasing The Crown Little Jeannie Sartorial Eloquence Two Rooms At The End Of The World
Side 2: White Lady White Powder Dear God Never Gonna Fall In Love Again Take Me Back Give Me The Love
