Up for sale is an incredibly scarce, official vinyl test pressing for the 2024 Kill Rock Stars reissue of Elliott Smith's seminal debut album, Roman Candle (originally cataloged as KRS-523). This copy was manufactured via the vinyl broker A to Z Media and plated at Record Technology Incorporated (RTI) to evaluate the foundational stampers before the retail color variants (Opaque Peach and Marbled Maroon) were run. Fewer than 10 of these copies are typically produced for label approval. • Jacket: Features a clean, generic white cardboard test-pressing sleeve with an official printed production tracking label affixed to the top reading: "ELLIOTT SMITH - ROMAN CANDLE". • Labels: Features official black and white A to Z Media "TEST PRESSING" printed labels with layout fields on Side A (Side B is a blank white center label). • Audio Lineage: Features the definitive 2010 Larry Crane remaster files, with the lacquer master cut by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering in Portland, Oregon.
