Up Next: Ella Washington on her 1st single Nightmare/The grass always sems greener. This was issued in 1966 on Octavia which was owned by an old promo friend of mine Larry Hargrove. At the time of this release he was a DJ on WRBD in Ft Lauderdale (Rockin Big Daddy) and Clarence Reid who discovered her introduced her to Larry. Killer Miami deep soul w amazing horns cut really hot.
45 looks VG and plays VG+ w light surface noise in quieter passages,not obtrusive. All records guaranteed if not fully satisfied. I generally do not list VG records but in this case due to the extreme rarity,i make exceptions. Produced by Clarence Reid.
For all my deep soul collectors 2 photos from my record store days in Miami. Clarence 'blowfly Reid saluting me (he gave me this gold lame outfit which I still have) Second photo are two of my heroes Henry Stone who hired me in 1968 at Tone Dist and Tom Dowd who I worked w at Criteria studios when I was a promo rep for Atlantic records in the early 70's. Both photos from 2004.
