Elgar Serenade Introduction Barbirolli UK HMV ASD 521
On this Penguin Rosette worthy record Sir John Barbirolli and the Sinfonia of London perform “Introduction and Allegro for Strings” and “Serenade in E Minor” by Elgar and the “Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis” and “Fantasia on Greensleeves” by Vaughan Williams. An English stereo pressing on the HMVLabel (ASD 521), the labels are red with white His Masters Voice and large fan shaped dog logo. The record is of excellent appearance, and plays and sounds superb with a minimum of surface noise. The cover laminate has rubbed slightly.
