description:
Ultra rare fantastic electronic library private press gem credited to the obscure (possibly pseudonymous) producers Franklin Morris, Ron Marquisee, and Dick Averson. Made entirely on a Moog, this contains 48 brief electronic sketches 10-60 seconds in length intended for film and radio use but which also work well as a collective suite for listening, with many innovative techniques applied to the then young Moog modular synth which most artists were still trying to figure out how to use at the time, a quite impressive feat in 1970. The compositions are playful while densely orchestrated with many layers of gorgeously sculpted synth textures. One can only speculate who is really behind this lp as there were only a handful of people able to do this in 1970 (Wendy Carlos? Mort Garson? Jean-Jacques Perrey? Gershon Kingsley? Paul Beaver? Bernie Krause?). Perhaps the Syracuse, New York label address provides a clue (not too far from Moog's Trumansburg HQ), if anyone has any further info I'd love to hear it! Thanks to a tip I learned that Franklin Morris was a music professor at Syracuse University, but his name was removed from later issues of this lp which only deepens the mystery. This is the first pressing of these recordings which were reissued by the De Wolfe library in the UK under the title Electrobeds after De Wolfe acquired the tiny Media Artists library label. This scarce US pressing predates the official De Wolfe issue but has the Media Artists label info crossed out by hand and De Wolfe stickers pasted over the label! Highly recommended electronic obscurity, one of my personal favorite early Moog artifacts.

Packing I pack professionally and with the utmost care drawn from years of experience trading vinyl internationally. I use new record mailers which I have determined are the best and most protective, reinforced with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap padding. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves and with the vinyl outside of the cover to prevent damage. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. Unless requested, no paper invoice is included in the package, both to save trees and to avoid customs difficulties. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.
Payment I accept Paypal (which allows for fastest possible shipment). Please email with any payment questions. If you are paying by Paypal and have won multiple items, please use a single Paypal payment. I will send an eBay invoice to winners shortly after my auctions close, and an email after payment has been received to confirm item shipment.
