Egg Hunt 7" TEST PRESSING Minor Threat Fugazi
DESCRIPTION: Mint condition Test Pressing of Egg Hunt 7" record. Dischord No. 20, Dischord Records, Washington, DC, 1986. Black vinyl with plain white label (handwritten "20" on one side), in thin plastic sleeve.Egg Hunt was a studio project between Ian MacKaye and myself (Jeff Nelson, Minor Threat/Dischord Records), when we recorded some songs with John Loder at Southern Studios when we were in London to discuss business with him. The songs turned out so well that we decided to release them as a single, which I named Egg Hunt since we'd been in England over Easter. We attempted to turn the project into a band, and held several practices at Dischord House with Geoff Turner and Steve Niles of Gray Matter (who had recently disbanded). That didn't end up working out, but I liked playing with Geoff and Steve so much that we started a band, eventually called 3. Ian went on to form Fugazi. Egg Hunt turned out to be the last time we played music together.
CONDITION / PROVENANCE: This test pressing is in absolutely mint condition. It has never been played, and has been kept in a plastic sleeve away from light and dust since it was made 27 years ago. It comes from my punk archives, which are being downsized after continuing to be described as "too big" and "insane" or containing "more than my potential kids or grandkids will ever want."
