Edward Hamilton & The Arabians – ‘Baby Don’t You Weep’ / ‘Tell Me’ – Mary Jane 1005 (US)
No introduction necessary! Detroit magic, one of the true classics of Northern Soul, sung by one of the finest American voices of all time. Nashville Mains-stamped original, with the “Mike Terry” credit on the label. Excellent B-side, not on Grapevine’s Lou Beatty’s Detroit Soul compilation, with a lovely ‘Spanish Harlem’ styled introduction.Listing this with a “Buy It Now!” option, which I hope you will consider fair and square. With a good, strong wind, delivery before Christmas should be totally possible. Don’t miss it!
Condition: VG+ or perhaps a notch better. There’s what sounds like a very faint cue burn right before ‘Baby Don’t You Weep’ kicks off, and ‘Tell Me’ has one or two rather inconspicuous clicks, but neither flaw is the cause for any great concern in my opinion (please listen to the full-length clips of both sides and see for yourself). Clean labels, save for some light water damage (please see scans).
