Description
Edith Johnson sings "Good Chib Blues" on Paramount 12864, accompanied by Ike Rodgers (tb) and Roosevelt Sykes (p). Rodgers is prominent throughout.
On the other side, she sings "Can't Make Another Day," accompanied by Baby James (cnt) and Roosevelt Sykes. Both sides were recorded in Richmond, Indiana on September 7, 1929.
This record is in V+ condition on the "Chib" side and VV+ on the "Day" side. It's a noisy pressing. There is a tiny edge chip not near the grooves on "Chib" (visible in the second picture at 12:30). Both sides have some storage-related marks that do not affect play. The music is loud, clear and well recorded over some surface noise on "Chib" and somewhat more noise on "Day." But the good music jumps out. The Paramount sleeve has a few small tears on the front (at the center hole) and one on the back, which is blank.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
