Description
****shipping is not GBP 4: worldwide shipping via Registered Airmail for this item is GBP 21. Each additional 78 is approx. GBP 4 extra. I will ship a maximum of two 78s in one parcel. ****
**** Customers should be aware that funds paid into PayPal can take up to a week to clear through the South African banking system. Since I am not a business with the money in hand to ship items right away, I can therefore only post items once I am able to draw PayPal payments as cash on this end from my local bank. However, goods are shipped immediately once payment has been cleared and withdrawn as cash. Please keep this in mind when leaving feedback.****
**** Please note: all 78s for auction have been kept by the original owner since they were purchased. They were not lent out or played at parties. Although they are USED and have been played, it is equally apparent that they have been carefully looked after. Some of the 78s were played with a heavier needle. The Elvis 78s have seen a little more play than the others, but they are still in collectible condition. Unfortunately, at this point, I do not have a player to play-grade the 78s, so grading is visual only. All 78s should, however, be fully playable with no skips or jumps. ****
Eddie Cochran - C'mon Everybody / Don't Ever Let Me Go - rare South African 78
London International Recordings / Made in South Africa by arrangement with the Decca Record Co. Ltd. England. PD.8209
78 is USED but is in Very Good condition. Grading, as mentioned above, is visual only. Strict grading under bright light. Scratch to label of "C'mon Everybody" (visible in photograph) as well as light signs of wear to both labels. Otherwise, both labels look fine. No writing on either label. Light wear to spindle hole on both sides, with a little more wear visible to hole on side with "Don't Ever Let Me Go". Minimal markings, scuff marks, and some light non-feelable scratches consistent with a record this age. This 78 looks as though it has been played more often than the "Three Steps To Heaven" 78 also listed for auction, but the overall impression is still very favourable. I imagine it would be difficult to find a copy of this 78 in such well cared for, albeit used, condition.
Original sleeve has seam splits, creasing, signs of aging and wear but is still functional. I would grade as Acceptable if not a little better considering its age.
Item is seldom offered for auction.
