Ultrarare original copy of the 1974 At The Helm album from BILAL ABDURAHMAN's EAST NEW YORK MUSICAL ENSEMBLE.Released by Folkways in a very limited quantity, the album is a gorgeously careening collection of Indo-jazz that draws heavily on the near and far eastern sounds of Turkey, Korea, North Africa, India, and China, and threads them into a distinctively forceful Black Jazz idiom. Includes a spiritual rendition of Freddie Hubbard's 13-minute epic, "Sun Flower."
