Description
In 1979, Earth, Wind & Fire released "I Am," an album that featured one of the most popular disco and crossover hits of all time, "Boogie Wonderland." The track, which features the vocals of The Emotions, propelled the band to even greater heights of fame. "After the Love Has Gone," another hit ballad from the album, also did well.
Despite being labeled a "disco band," Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire was quick to point out that the band didn't just play disco music. "We might have partied, but we didn't dance," he said. "I Am" showcases the band's impressive vocal strength and instrumental prowess, proving that they were much more than just a disco act.
Over the years, Earth, Wind & Fire has produced a string of hits, including "September," "Let's Groove," and "Fantasy." With over 90 million albums sold worldwide and six Grammy Awards to their name, the band is one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
