Description
Offered here for you is an etched label, 10" early Zon-O-Phone single sided record. It is announced. There are no chips, splits, cracks or other horrors that affect very old records. However, it could use a light cleaning. It is titled "Selections From Carmen", played by Victor Herberts Band. It is disc number XO-119. I played it on my cheap, nasty electric record player. Didn't sound too bad. There were no skips, no major pops. It has low/medium surface noise but nothing I would put out of character for a record this old. Music is a bit weak at the beginning but quickly gets stronger. All in all, I'd say a pretty good disc considering its age. Hope you can give it a new home. Thanks for looking!
The record will be securely packed between several layers of double corrugated cardboard, one cut out for the disc. The few discs I've sold in the past generally arrived in great shape. However, the Post Office is sometimes unpredictable. Therefore, each shipment has a handling charge that is the cost of insurance and all shipments will be insured. Anything beyond basic insurance, I will pay for.
NOTE: I'm primarily a cylinder collector. (Have hundreds of the little beasts!). Through the years I've also sometimes purchased discs for their content, condition, apparent rarity or they were just plain cheap!! At age 61 I've gotten tired of lugging these discs through life. As none of my kids has the slightest interest in these old recordings, I've decided its time to start getting rid of some of them. Over the months they will be offered, more or less in the order that they surface from my barn and storage shed. (They have not been offered locally nor have they been picked through).
