EYDIE GORME

& THE TRIO LOS PANCHOS

“AMOR – GREAT LOVE SONGS IN SPANISH”

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original CBS Records, MONO reissue released in Chile in 1970 by CBS Records, made and distributed by Philips Chilena S.A. (Philips Records), catalog number 111.004, with hand etched matrix numbers 111 004-A AA in Side 1 and 111 004-A AA in Side 2, with traditional orange/black CBS Records labels, with squared CBS Records logo surrounding the spindle hole. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

AMOR – Great Love Songs In Spanish” was originally released in USA in 1964 and late the same year we got the album released here in Chile by Goluboff Records, but I’ve found a reissue of 1970 made by Philips Records and like so many times in that period we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of a single piece of a thin cardboard folded in the middle with two sheets of thick paper attached to the cardboard (partially glued at mouth edge) for front and back cover, faking a gatefold cover, and kept held for a plastic bag. Front cover keeps strictly the original US artwork. Back cover has an UNIQUE DESIGN, even different from the first issue by Goluboff Records, with album title and tracklist written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and a brief review about the album. In labels the album title and tracklist are also written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters. It’s interesting to see that in both labels are written the original matrix numbers of the first Chilean press (XLP 77278 and XLP 77279) and in back cover the credits are for Discos Philips and in labels for Philips Chilena S.A., both names used for Philips Records. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE  Chilean reissue of this classic album by Eydie Gorme singing with The Trio Los Panchos in Spanish, with UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE BACK COVER DESIGN, with CBS/Philips Records labels, a record almost never seen and now auctioned here in eBay in great condition. A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Eydie Gorme and Pop/Latin Jazz of the ‘60’s!!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition, clear and clean, with some wear in all edges, more evident in corners, with evident age browning in the mouth edge and back cover, but free of marks of any kind. The record is in strong VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with some scuffs, light hairlines and soft scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great EX or EX+ condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear and very faint blemishes almost impossible to see at first sight. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and some very light pops, barely audible, which don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this album keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, maybe this record could not to be for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but it’s still a great record with a very nice look, almost immaculate labels and great sound quality after about 54 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any collector who knows the level of rarity of this record!!! And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BACK COVER DESIGN and the CBS/Philips labels!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

  • The records for sale are used and if you know about records then you will already know that they behave differently on different turntables, therefore there is NO GUARANTEE on them, but I do my best to grade them as accurately as possible and every flaw I listen on my turntable it's informed in description.
  • NO RETURNS ACCEPTED.
  • We are not responsible for the damages in transit, when the parcel is given to the postal service, then the care of the parcel and delivery time is out of my control.
  • NO REFUNDS ACCEPTED.
  • IF YOU BUY THIS RECORD, YOU ARE ACCEPTING THESE CONDITIONS, SO WE HOPE AND TRUST YOU WILL BE SERIOUS AND HONOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONDITIONS.

IMPORTANT UPDATE (September 2024)

Because the UK’s tax authority, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC), requires eBay collect VAT information from sellers with UK customers, I’ve been informed that I need to have a “valid UK VAT number on file” to sell to UK customers. As I live in Chile and all my items are shipped from Chile, I don’t have an “UK VAT number”, so I’m sorry to inform that I’M FORCED TO EXCLUDE THE UK FROM MY WORLDWIDE SHIPPING POLICY. If you live in the UK and you’d like to bid/buy some of my records, please contact me, I’m sure we could find some solution.

If you have some doubt or question, feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
