Well, it's time to sell some of my personal collection :(
This little beauty is a very 1st pressing of Pink Floyd's 6th release and was the first studio album after the departure of Syd.
Released on GUY FAWKS night in 1971 (November the 5th) it reached the slot of 3rd position in the UK album charts.
BUT THIS IS THE 1ST AUSTRALIAN PRESSING-not many people with have this baby!

The Vinyl:

I have just listened to the whole album-up loud....There is some gentle and occasional static crackle to just a few light sections but nothing at all to ruin my enjoyment (more evident right at the start of side 2)-I am being VERY critical-it just reminded me I am listening to a slab of vinyl which is 52 years old which still plays through with vigour and clarity.
No marks of any significance at all.
ST TROPEZ booms out with wonderful deep and crisp bass...Gorgeous!
LOVELY and FLAT.
QUALITY.

The Labels:
EX+/NMINT!
1st pressing FRENCH Pathe Marconi labels....They are slightly lighter in colour than the later Harvest labels.
NO writing, rips/tears...Lovely, clean and clear labels.
ZERO central hole wear and no spindle marks to speak of!!
!!SIMPLY SUPERB!!

The Cover:
EX(+)!
 It is the ORIGINAL French laminated gatefold cover.
The top and bottom edges to the spine have just been gently rubbed, but not badly at all. Very little creasing to the laminate...A light line to the back gatefold panel.
Has the "Les Industries Musicales Et Electriques. PATHE MARCONI. PARIS" text inside the gatefold...Which, I may add, is wonderfully clean and white to this day.
NO splits.
NO writing.
SOLID AND QUITE RARE.

The Inner:
EX.
It is the original plastic lined inner with just some creasing and light foxing to the paper, but no splits.
It has the very early statement:
"UK Patent No. 1,072,844 FOREIGN PATENTS PENDING"
Double windowed and has certainly looked after this wonderful slab of vinyl for all these years!

ALL IN ALL THIS IS A VERY 1ST PRESSING OF A FANTASTIC ALBUM.  SHE STILL PLAYS THROUGH WITH VIGOUR AND CLARITY. ALL COMPLETE AND ORIGINAL.
NOT MANY PEAOPLE CAN SAY THEY HAVE AN ORIGINAL FRENCH 1ST PRESSING!!
