Description
Here is a RARE album from my collection offered up for sale: This is Buddy Holly's 3rd album "That'll Be The Day" originally released during Buddy's lifetime in 1958. This is a 1961 second pressing released by Decca DL 8707 MONO, has the heavy vinyl with rainbow band "Long Play" labels. Has a beautiful original cover with cool old music store tag on the back (before zip codes!), has printed inner sleeve, hard to find in this condition, very collectable!
The vinyl grades outstanding VG+, is super clean and glossy, has a few light marks and a couple small more moderate marks on both sides, no signs of heavy play. PLAY TESTED, plays very good from start to finish, bright clear sound with some errant light pops, no skips or jumps, a very enjoyable listen! The paper inner sleeve is super clean and bright, no splits.
The cover rates strong EX, is super clean with great colors, beautiful portrait of Buddy with almost no wear, edges and corners are excellent, no splits, no tape, binder edge and top edge are both readable, has only two small light bends (unnoticeable), opening has just a bit of rub to color in a couple tiny spots, no stains on the back, has been very well cared for, looks minimally handled, WOW! Will be shipped in a .3 ml plastic sleeve in a record mailing box with tracking. The vinyl will be shipped in a "throw away" paper sleeve outside the cover to prevent splits.
