Description

All 20 LP's....the complete set bought as a set by me....from France...the acknowledged king of Django reissues.   I bought these years ago and had them shipped to me from France.  Not to beat the old dead horse, but this set really does sound better to me than most if not all of the CD re-issues I've heard (including the Integrale set), and by far, most of the vinyl ones as well.....the only vinyl I think that sounds better are some of the original deep groove mono LP reissues of the Hot Club from the early 50's played with a GE RPX cartridge.....but that's a different ball game as well as a very limited repertoire of Django's body of work.   Back to this set......Some of the covers still have the French price tags on them.  Most of the sleeves are solid with no window, I only noticed one with French printing on it, and 2 are window sleeves.  Volume 1 has the cover coming unglued (pictured); I see no visible flaws except on Volume 17, side 2, there is a surface rub or light abrasion line across part of track 3, through track 4, and into track 5; I can only hear a slight tick (much less than a dust pop) towards the end of track 4 and this does not continue across the silence between tracks 4 and 5 so it could be my imagination....if you didn't visually know it was there you would not notice or hear it I don't think (NOT a skip/hung groove, or deep scratch).   Similarly using my visual paranoid grading imagination, I almost notice a "dust fingerprint" (not a skin oil one) on one side each of discs 5 and 9.....again, I'm being really picky and if I didn't tell you, you likely would not notice it.  There are some paper dust particles in most of them from being in the covers....just like if you remember buying a new LP in the 70's or 80's would have.  I don't think most of this set was ever played or vaccuumed....they basically all look brand new other than the things I'm relaying here.   The jackets have some minor bent corners and shelf wear but nothing agredious.   I have not played all of the set in the years I've had it, and I forget now what sides I actually have and have not played, but I never noticed any audible flaw, nor visual flaws grading them under bright light to list them for sale, I see no flaws other than the ones I mentioned.  The discs look new, and what I have played sounds new.  Being that I'm calling this a visually graded set under bright light and being very picky, I'm rating this set as EX++ or Mint- since I know some of it has been played.   I think whoever buys this set will be very, very happy and thankful to have found it.  I collect LP's and 78's and have for several decades, so I'm familiar with how things should be graded and approached for sale.  What little liner notes there are are in French, but the song titles and names of the musicians are in English (other than French titles or musicians) with the instruments having abbreviations with a legend so that any person reading English can easily know what's what on each track.   Unless you want to pay extra (actual shipping), I will ship media mail...the set will have the LP's in the sleeves and jackets, be sandwhiched between FLAT corrogated cardboards, put in a 12" square box, then that box put into a larger box with padding between the inner and outer boxes to protect the set in shipping.   Please see the pictures and ask all questions before bidding; sold as is.
