This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

***ONE OF THE BEST PIECES OF VINYL I HAVE SEEN FOR THIS ALBUM***

The vinyl has just a few whispy marks to her, after playing her ALL THE WAY  through, I found just occasional light background noise-more evident on the start tracks of each disc....mostly due to just dust in the grooves, so a GENTLE professional clean and you've got a lovely copy!
A simple joy to listen to, which would only improve with a professional clean....
 EXCELLENT playback!

The labels: EX. All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
Just a few very light spindle marks to each label showing only light play! These can only be seen when angling to the light....Simply superb!!!!
Next to NO HOLE WEAR at all!
"Mfd in the U.K." to each of the labels.

The Cover: NUMBERED: 0607568 It is the first run TOP loading and LOVELY & CLEAN, SUPERB shine to it. Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold without tears, rips or writing!!
The spine remains strong and clear.
Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of  Stereo to the back top right.
The top has light feathering.

There are a few very small (about 7) crescents of spidering to the front and back-total, as well as some small fingers of spidering eminating from the spine and seam,....THAT REALLY IS IT!!!

AGAIN, I AM BEING INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!!!

Very good and very strong Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold....Still opens with that lovely crackle as if it's the first day of opening.

Just, simply FANTASTIC ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING!!!


Inners: NEAR MINT! Original BLACK inners. They are both incredibly well looked after and have barely any sign of ageing.
They have the die-cut corners and the'windows' on one side to each.
THEY ARE ORIGINAL AND SUPERB
Certainly done their job by looking after these records after all this time!

Pictures: ALL present (John and George, Ringo & Paul) They are NEAR MINT AND ORIGINAL.
They DON'T have any pin-holes around their edges...Which was quite typical for the Beatles fans to pin their beau's up on their bedroom wall.
Lovely and bright.
Beautiful white backings too!

Poster: EXCELLENT++! Full size and with lyrics to the back.
NO holes/splits to the fold creases!!!
 NO pin holes.
Just a few spots of age-that is it!
