THIS RECORD COMES FROM THE TIME I WAS THE MUSIC & PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR FOR A MAJOR NATIONAL RADIO NETWORK BASED IN THE L.A. AREA. WHEN I STARTED WORKING THERE THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING RID OF THEIR RECORDS FOR CD'S. I ALSO HAVE SOME THAT WERE GIFTED TO ME BY AN EMPLOYEE OF THE NETWORK THAT WAS RELOCATING BACK EAST AND DIDNT WANT TO KEEP HAULING THEIR RECORDS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. ALSO A FEW MAY BE THRIFT STORE FINDS. I AM CURRENTLY DOWNSIZING.THIS LP IS OPENED BUT UNPLAYED. VISUALLY GRADED.

Enuff Z'Nuff (a pronunciation respelling of "enough's enough"), is an American rock band from Blue Island, Illinois. Founded by singer Donnie Vie and bassist Chip Z'Nuff, this Chicago area band is best known for their charting singles "Fly High Michelle" and "New Thing".

Enuff Z'Nuff has continually recorded and toured throughout their career of more than 30 years, releasing 14 studio albums and a total of 22 CDs to date. Their songs have been recorded by several other musicians, some of which include Paul Gilbert, the Tuesdays, the Wildhearts, and Nelson. The group has appeared on MTV, Howard Stern and David Letterman. In addition to their independent label releases, their music has been released on the major labels Atco Records and Arista Records.

History[edit]

Formation (1984–1989)[edit]

Enuff Z'Nuff formed in 1984 as "Enough Z'Nuff". The band soon grew a live following and recorded their first demo songs, some of which would be officially released later in their career. The band's first single, "Fingers On It," received some minor recognition when it was featured in the 1986 cult movie Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Band members during this period also included drummer B.W. Boeski and guitarists Gino Martino and Alex Kane, the latter of which moved on to lead guitars for Life, Sex & Death and eventually formed the band AntiProduct.

Major label recordings (1989–1993)[edit]

By 1989, Enough Z'Nuff had revised their band name to "Enuff Z'Nuff" and released their first major label offering, a self-titled debut album on Atco Records. For this recording, founding members Donnie Vie and Chip Z'Nuff were joined by ex-Le Mans guitarist Derek Frigo and drummer Vik Foxx. The band had two charting hits with the psychedelic-flavored pop rock songs "New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle," both of which received steady airplay on MTV. A few years later, the band's heavy glam rock appearance in the music videos would be parodied on Beavis & Butthead.

Frontman Donnie Vie has expressed disappointment that the label marketed the group as a glam metal act during this period instead of as a power pop group, which he considered to be a better descriptor of their sound, and suggested that the group would have retained their popularity had they been promoted as such.

Enuff Z'Nuff is the self-titled studio album by American hard rock band Enuff Z'Nuff, released in 1989 on Atco Records. This debut album continues to be the best selling album in the band's catalog. The album's first single, the rock song "New Thing," received steady radio and MTV airplay, peaking at #67 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their follow-up single, a ballad called "Fly High Michelle," would prove to be the band's biggest hit, peaking at #47 on the same chart. Promotional CDs were created for another song, a ballad called "For Now," but this single was apparently cancelled while the band focused on their follow-up record, 1991's Strength album.

Additional exposure for the album occurred with the album tracks "Hot Little Summer Girl" and "I Could Never Be Without You" being featured on the popular TV shows Beverly Hills, 90210 and Northern Exposure. A few years later, the band's glam appearance in their video for "Fly High Michelle" would be parodied on MTV's Beavis & Butt-head.

 If ever there was a band that ought to have made the big time it was Enuff Z Nuff. They had it all; songs, musicianship, looks, hooks, and a major record label itching to knock the ball right out of the park. The only thing they didn't have on their side was luck. Despite almost universal predictions that EZN would romp home to victory, fortune dictated otherwise leaving them stranded in a rapidly changing musical landscape. Formed near the sprawling metropolis of Chicago during the mid-eighties, this four man outfit featured two central characters in songwriters Donnie Vie and Chip Z Nuff. Brothers in all but name, they were feted as the Lennon and McCartney of the hard rock scene. Signed to Atco Records in a whirl of activity, the band recorded this, their ground breaking debut album on home turf crafting one of the best albums of the era. A record so good, that even snooty nosed rock critics for Rolling Stone magazine hailed it as a sensation. Musically the band mined a luxurious fusion of melodic hard rock and pure sixties pop. It was as if Cheap Trick had joined forces with Bon Jovi. Tracks such as 'New Thing', 'Kiss The Clown' and the epic 'In The Groove' took a tired format and utterly reinvented the format. The ballad 'Fly High Michelle' is a masterpiece of psychedelic power pop, the icing on one of the greatest albums of all time.
