ENSLAVED - Below The Light LP (ultra clear aqua-blue marble vinyl - limited 500 copies)
The 7th sign of life by the Norwegian band ENSLAVED is called ''Below The Light'' and dates from orginal in 2003.
One thing remains clear, if you look back at the history of this Bergen viking mates number one, you only realize that ENSLAVED never have the same album recorded twice, but always evolving. The highlight of this process so far was surely the last album ''Monumension'' from 2001.
''Below The Lights'' with its 7 tracks is both a step forward and a step back. The predecessor's variety of ideas had to give way to a concentration on the essentials, whereby ENSLAVED have also regained their hardness and sound more epic, darker & more dramatic.
The 3 norwegians manage to create their very own Viking Metal, which can sound both epic and brutal and spread the typical ENSLAVED atmosphere.
Two things play an important role here, firstly the vocals of Grutle Kjellson, who perfectly masters all facets from aggressive screeching, to deep growls, to moving clear vocals, and secondly the impressive guitar work.
The riffs are gripping, stirring, catchy & aggressive. The concentration on the indisputable strengths of the band has brought ENSLAVED to a new level with ''Below The Light''.
This is the 2018 re-edition, limited 500 copies on 180g ultra clear aqua-blue marble vinyl,
packed in gatefold cover & with extra printed innersleeve.
