Enrico Mainardi plays Johann Sebastian Bach, suites for violoncello solo. no.1 G-major, BWV 1007; no.2 d-minor, BWV 1008
Original 1954 mono-recording and heavy-flat pressing on German DGG ARCHIV 14029 APM with silver-blue "Alle Rechte" label.
superb natural, immediate and dynamic sound. reference performance.
Condition of foldout-cover: excellent. liner notes in German, English, French and Italian.
Condition of record (each Suite covers one whole record-side):
Suite no.1 has a 4cm mark on band 2 which gives several very light ticks AND a severe spotlike vinyl-fault in the menuet which gives 28 considerable ticks (but no skips with my stereo-pickup). Otherwise Suite 1 is excellent.
Suite no.2 plays really fine and is excellent to near mint. No spindle-marks, clean vinyl.
