Interesting item of record company/Royal memorabilia.

1977 Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee

EMI Records Open Day 28th-29th May 1977

The lot includes a programme of events, containing a plan/map of the EMI manufacturing plant in Uxbridge a timetable of buses etc, a one-sheet music programme (there was a brass band and other entertainments laid on for the visitors), an EMI LP record in a Queen Elizabeth Jubilee commemorative sleeve, two copies of a commemorative EMI silver jubilee 7" vinyl single - the single has been etched. One single is in a plain paper sleeve and the other is in a card sleeve with a printed Union Flag. The LP record inside the HM Queen Jubilee sleeve (Catalogue number OD 2) is Manuel & his Music of the Mountains - I presume visitors were given an LP of their choice in the souvenir commemorative jubilee sleeve but despite lengthy research of the collection, I cannot confirm that as I have never seen another one listed or sold - there is a similar souvenir LP from 1972 with a different catalogue number and tracklisting which I have found online (which was a Studio Two sampler with a different sleeve) but the tracks seem to be specific to that version of the release but I'm happy to be corrected on this. The items come in an EMI Wales plastic bag. I have seen the etched 7" records sold for £10-15 each, so I have priced the complete lot competitively and there is free 2nd class post in the UK in a sturdy vinyl mailer with card stiffeners for extra peace of mind.

Everything is very well looked after. The programmes and the 7" are in mint condition. The LP sleeve has some ring wear and the bag has a few wrinkles. Interesting lot and a nice piece of recorded music/pop culture/social history!

Please note - auction items with a final sale price of over £50 will be shipped using an insured service. Please await invoice if your total order is £50 or over as the insured postage rate will need to be applied. If you bid more than £50 for an item then please be aware of this. If you do not wish to pay the modest increase in postage on expensive items then please do not bid. Many thanks for your understanding.

Happy to combine postage on multiple purchases made within the same seven day period. This discount will be calculated at auction's end, NOT before. If you have bid on multiple items, please await your invoice before making payment - this will ensure your postage discount is applied to your order.
