VINYL GRADING -  'EX' CONDITION BOTH SIDES

JUST A FEW VERY LIGHT SURFACE MARKS ON THE VINYL. BOTH SIDES PLAY THROUGH PERFECTLY WITHOUT ANY SURFACE NOISE

LABELS - CLEAN BOTH SIDES, JUST LIGHT SPINDLE HOLE WEAR

PICTURE SLEEVE CONDITION - SEE PHOTOS, BUT THIS IS A GATEFOLD PICTURE SLEEVE IN A 'MATT' FINISH. SOME LIGHT HANDLING AND EDGE WEAR AND LIGHT GRUBBY MARKS. ALSO THERE IS A SMALL 10mm AGE RELATED SPLIT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST PAGE FOLD, BUT NO WRITING ON THE INNER PAGES (SEE PHOTOS). '11/5' IS WRITTEN IN PENCIL TO THE TOP LEFT OF THE FRONT PAGE, PROBABLY THE ORIGINAL PRICE (11 shillings and 5 pence) PUT ON BY THE ORIGINAL RECORD SHOPKEEPER. 

COMMENTS - Now I'm not an 'Elvis expert' but I believe what we are auctioning here is a 'hybrid' EP with the vinyl being a 1958 1st pressing release on an RCA tri centre coupled with the 60's re-issued rare gatefold sleeve (I believe the original EP release had just a single standard EP sleeve). Quite how these came together is not known, but in my experience it was not uncommon for record shops to keep old shop stock then accidentally marry them up with newer sleeves at a later date, not realising the confusion it would cause some 55 or so years later! Anyway, this is certainly a sought after sleeve in nice condition considering it has a matt finish with inkjet type print which attracts dirt and marks easily but this one the whole has been well looked after. Also the 'TO' and 'FROM' label of the inner gatefold has not been written on which makes this a particularly attractive to Elvis collectors. This has been well looked after in our collection for many years, but now has to go! Please study the photos and ask any questions you may have before bidding if you wish to.

 GRADES - All records are graded visually (under strong light) and audibly but not always right through, but if we do see a mark that may cause a problem WE WILL play it through .Grades are based on the UK Record Collectors Guide, but suffixes (+) & (-) are also used to grade vinyl falling between 2 grades.
